Welcome to St. Chrysostom's church!

St. Chrysostom's in Manchester is a welcoming and inclusive church that is rooted in the Catholic tradition. We aim to be a strong catholic presence in our community. Spreading the word of God and reaching out to those most in need that we may serve others as Christ serves us. All are welcome!

This weekend is the Sunday after Epiphany
where we celebrate the Baptism of Our Lord

The Mid-week Service with David Jackman is now held on Thursday 15 January at 1pm where David will continue a series of mid-week services. He will be leading a service of silent meditation for 20 minutes, with scripture readings from the Mass of the day.

Next Sunday Mass takes place on 18 January at 11am, where Mtr Andrea will celebrate and preach.

Morning Prayer (Lauds) continues this weekend at 10.30am and every Sunday thereafter. This is the perfect way to prepare yourself for Holy Mass at 11am.

Interregnum news
In November, Archdeacon Karen Best met with the PCC to share her thoughts on the way forward for the appointment of a new parish priest.  We thank her for her thoughtful leadership and will be advertising the vacancy, nationally, early in the New Year.  This would then lead to interviews in the Spring and, God willing, appointment of a new parish priest perhaps in the late Summer.
She or he will be shared in that role with St Agnes, Longsight parish, with whom we continue to work.

Funding raising appeal - White altar frontal - THANK YOU

Our beautiful 'white' altar frontal has now been repaired and returned to Church, after over 120 years of faithful service, restoring it to its former glory. Over £3,000 has been raised from the congregation. Thank you. However, we're asking those in the diaspora of St Chrysostoms, perhaps overseas or other part of the UK, whether you can contribute too. 'Can you help us with a £40 contibution' to pay for 1% of the repair costs or £20 for 0.5% of the repair costs?'.  Each contribution will be recorded on a Thank You list of donors in church to record our grateful thanks. Contributions can be made at Mass on Sunday, and also on this link:
https://givealittle.co/c/1ced62ab-1a93-45b8-bd12-acdeaa51915e.

Thank you for your contribution bringing back the glory of this altar frontal!
