At St Chrysostom's, prayer and worship of God are central to all we do.
We have a special calling and duty to pray for our local community and parish, and to offer prayer and worship on behalf of all our parishioners.
Many people who come to St Chrysostom's ask for prayers to be said at worship. We encourage visitors to our website to ask for prayers too. Our work of praying for God's world and God's people focuses around the daily prayers of the Church. We encourage all who worship with us to pray for each other and to remember the requests for prayer. We have a 'prayer loop' - those in this loop receive an e mail each week with requests for prayer. To join the loop simply send an E-mail to Fr.Lee (CLICK HERE) At Sunday Mass the intercessions are of a general nature - we often simply have too many names to read out. On a Sunday evening and at weekday masses people are often remembered by name, and specific prayer requests are always read out at the end of each Wednesday evening Mass, when we pray before the statue of Our Lady of Walsingham. A prayer of St Chrysostom
Almighty God, you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplication to you; and you have promised that when two or three are gathered together in your name you will grant their requests. Fulfill now, O Lord, the desires and petitions of your servants, as may be most expedient for them, granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the world to come, life everlasting. Amen |
